Madame Lidiya was born on September the 8th in Oleno-Kosohorivka, a village situated in Kirovohradskaya oblast.

1961st 1969th studied in the 8-year-school in Oleno-Kosohorivka.

Her mother recollects that the daughter began singing just when she began to pronounce her first words. And there is no wonder: the father, the mother, the three younger sisters, as well as all the people in their village Oleno-Kosohorivka, have always liked singing and cannot live without it. But only small Lida for her crystal-clear voice was called an artist

In 1969th she enters Kirovohrad College of Music, the department of conducting and chorus singing.

Once the girl decided to make a step to her dream. She wrapped in paper the documents about graduating from the 8-years country school and made her way to Kirovohrad. After she discovered that there wasnt a vocal department in the College of Music, she entered the department of conducting and chorus singing. There was music and singing too

1973rd Shes a soloist of Victor Ikonnyks chamber chorus.

1974th enters Kiev Academy of Music ( class of National Artist of Ukraine Zoya Hrystych ).

After finishing her studies Lidiya found out about the creation of the chamber chorus in Kiev. So, first she decided to try there. She passed the casting successfully, and for the first time the way to the boundless world of music was clear for her .Many works from the choirs repertoire came into the singers life - the great works of Bach, Mozart, Verdi, Haydn, Vivaldi, the best works of the compatriots Vedel and Bortnyansky, the works of the Soviet composers Lyatoshynsky, Revutsky, Shtoharenko Lidiya was very much grateful to the choir staff, to the director, Honored Worker of Art Victor Ikonnyk, for the great moments of creating and learning. And later, after she had entered the evening department of Kiev Academy of Music, she met another person who influenced her to a great extent and to whom she is grateful for her formation as an artist it was National Artist of Ukraine Zoya Hrystych.

1978th Shes a laureate of the 3rd Republic Festival Young Voices and a laureate of M. Lysenko Republic competition (the 1st prize).

1979th Shes a laureate of the 9th All-Union M. Glinka Competition (the 2nd prize).

Honoured Artist of Ukraine

In summer 1979th at the All-Union M. Glinka Competition of Young Vocalists in Tallin the young singer from Ukraine a debutant of such kind of competitions got the 2nd prize (the 1st prize that year was not distributed). And the score of the laureates ranks was opened the year before in Voroshylovgrad, in the Republic competition Young Voices.That year she was given the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine

December the 30th in 1979th Her debut in the National Opera of Ukraine in the part of Oksana in Hulak-Artemovskys opera Zaporizian Beyond the Danube.

The next stage in her work wasnt easy. Lidiya was invited to the Kiev State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater after T.Shevchenko (presently the National Opera of Ukraine). In the first season she already sang the leading parts in the performances Natalka Poltavka in Lysenkos opera and Oksana in Hulak-Artemovskys Zaporizian Beyond the Danube. An exciting, sometimes unknown world of art was opened for the girl. But, having adjusted to the subtleties of the vocal, having learned to penetrate the deepness of the plot of the musical compositions, having got the sense of ensemble, she had to comprehend the art of the stage reincarnation

In La Scala theatre

1980th-1981st studying in the La Scala theatre in Milan.

Six months of probation at the famous La Scala theatre for her as well as for the other Soviet singers were full of hard work. Studying in the afternoon and visiting performances in the evening. Unforgettable lessons of the great singer Juliet Simionato and her famous colleagues-pedagogists: singers and conductors. In order not to forget a thing Lidiya recorded the lessons on the audiocassettes which she very often uses today . The magic atmosphere of the great singers circle recurs to her memory. She was lucky to hear live singing of Placido Domingo, Mirela Freni, Elena Obrazcova. And not only at the performances but at the rehearsals too. In Italy Lidiya Zabilyasta performed on the Minor stage of the La Scala , and on the eve of her departure there was a concert in Parma

1982nd The 1st prize and Gold Medal at the 7th International Chaikovsky Competition.

There is a lot of multilingual hum in the building of Moscow Academy of Music. It is also heard in the press-center : about 400 journalists from 33 countries of the world broadcast the news from the 7th International Chaikovsky competition. Soon the announcer will say: Lidiya Zabilyasta The Soviet Union! Lidiya must make understandable for the listeners such difficult and different characters as Juliet from I Capuleti e I Montecchi (Bellini), Margarita from Mefistofel(Boito), Leonora Il Trovatore (Verdi), Natasha from War and Peace (Prokofiev), Oksana from Cherevichki (Chaikovsky) Here they dont pay attention to the merits and successes. She has 3 tours of the responsible competition among the strong participators Giving a rang of the National Artist of Ukraine
After the long discussing the judges tell the decision: To give the 1st prize and the Gold medal to Lidiya Zabilyasta and Paata Burchuladze (The Soviet Union) The absolute leaders in all 3 tours of the competition. And the firework of the success flares up in numerous congratulations, interviews, greetings.


1985th National Artist of Ukraine

The investiture of  The Order of Duchess Olga

2003rd - The Order of Duchess Olga.

At the National Opera of Ukraine she sang about 30 leading parts. She wired for sound and played the role of Hanna in the film Expiation (cinematization of Verykivskys opera Naimychka). Lidiya Zabilyasta is also famous as a chamber singer whose repertoire contains the pearls of the world classics, national classical and modern music, the miniatures that are rarely sang. By the way, the vocal cycle of Tariverdiev Water-Colours on the Japaneese Medieval poems is recorded only with her singing. This cycle is included into the Lidiyas CD In the Captivity of Music. And national Ukrainian songs you can listen on the audiocassette Lidiya Zabilyasta. Charmed with the Song.


She performed in concert-halls of many Ukrainian cities and different parts of the world.
Among them are: Glinka Capella, Philarmony (Saint-Petersburg), Bolshoy Theatre, Kremlin Palace, Beethoven Hall, the hall of Gnesins Institute, Big Hall of the Academy of Music, Column Hall of the Trade-Union House, Chaikovsky Museum (Moscow), Domsky Cathedral (Riga).
